How silver spot and MCX quotes are sourced

This page explains the live global spot benchmark, the MCX source links and what visitors should check before comparing prices.

Global spot reference shown on the homepage

The homepage requests the global silver spot quote from the Corgano API in INR at page load and about every two minutes while the page is visible. It displays the API per-kilogram INR value and its source timestamp. The graph requests daily closes in USD per troy ounce, with a 7-, 30- or 90-day view. Corgano describes the historical series as daily COMEX front-month silver futures closes; it is not MCX data. The spot quote is not an Indian retail rate or a guaranteed execution price. When a fresh request fails, the page can show a saved quote for up to seven days and labels it as cached.

Silver data is reused under the provider’s stated CC BY 4.0 terms. The required credit appears on this linked methodology page: Silver price data by Corgano. The link to this page is placed beside the homepage quote.

Displayed MCX instrument

The page identifies TradingView’s MCX:SILVER1! continuous Silver Futures symbol as its chart reference. A continuous contract links successive futures contract months. It is useful for following the market, but it is not itself one expiring MCX contract. Individual expiry prices and liquidity can differ.

Where to find the current MCX quote

The homepage links directly to MCX Market Watch, where the exchange publishes its contract table. Look for Instrument FUTCOM and Commodity SILVER; confirm the expiry date, LTP, quote unit and time on MCX. The reference quote unit is Indian rupees per kilogram (₹/kg).

Why MCX prices are not copied onto this site

MCX says organisations that want to display exchange data on their own website or application can subscribe to real-time or delayed data through MCX or an authorised distributor. Only delayed data is allowed for public display on websites, and MCX requires a data agreement and permission for public internet display. SilverMCX.Live does not currently have an MCX data-feed subscription, so it links to the official market page instead of copying or caching exchange values.

TradingView’s widgets reject the MCX continuous symbol when used as an embedded chart or quote. The site links to TradingView’s hosted symbol page; the provider controls data visibility there, and market-data access may require an account.

Spot, futures and retail rates differ

Futures are agreements tied to a specified contract month and can trade above or below spot. Retail quotes can also include purity differences, product premiums, fabrication, transportation, applicable taxes and dealer spreads. This site does not estimate or endorse a retail buy or sell price.

Primary data references

Check before comparing. Confirm whether a value is spot or futures, the expiry month, the currency and weight unit, and the timestamp on the source page.
